An AI marketing agent is software that can reason over customer data and take action at the individual level. Agents process millions of behavioral and contextual signals in real time, then use those signals to make core marketing decisions for each customer: when to reach out, which creative to use, how often to engage, and through which channels. This represents a shift from group-based marketing to true 1:1 personalization, where every journey is dynamically shaped by data. Marketers set the goals and provide the creative; agents handle execution at scale—unlocking stronger relevance, higher retention and greater profitability.
Experimentation is built directly into Monocle. You can set up holdout groups and run controlled experiments alongside your existing flows or campaigns, making it easy to prove incremental lift and validate performance before scaling.
You’re always in control. You decide the offers, creative assets, and guardrails, and agents work within those boundaries. By default, agents don’t write new messages—they select from the assets you provide and optimize who sees them, when, and how often. If you choose, you can opt in to let agents customize certain elements—like a subject line or a content block—but that’s always your call.
No. Monocle integrates seamlessly with most major email and SMS platforms. We power the targeting and decisioning layer, the emails and SMS are sent through the platform you choose so you don’t need to change your existing tools.
Most AI features today still run on the same segment- and rule-based logic. For years, “personalization” has really meant choosing the best version for a segment of customers. With Monocle, AI agents look at each customer individually and build a customized journey—when to enroll them in a flow or campaign, how often to reach out, which channels to use and what creative to send. You set the goals and provide the assets; the agents make those decisions per person across email, SMS, and onsite. It’s a fundamental shift from optimizing messages for groups to creating truly individualized journeys for every customer.
We use first-party data captured on your brand’s site, historical purchase data, and contextual data such as seasonality.
We focus on maximizing the incremental value on your brand’s promotion spend. For every customer, we predict the incremental change in revenue and gross profit from receiving an incentive and choose the optimal one given the brand’s strategy.
Yes! A lot of our brands only run a couple of major promotion campaigns through the year (which we help optimize). During the remainder of the time, they use Monocle to selectively give incentives through email and SMS flow, targeting only a subset of customers with the highest ROI.
Yes! Our models will never be a black box. In our Admin dashboard you’ll be able to review what features the AI models are using to predict the impact from getting an incentive.
Of course, we allow brands to export the list of customers by their sensitivity to incentives and use it in ad and retargeting campaigns.
