The Challenge

The Perfect Jean had built impressive growth with a bold brand voice and strong retention programs. But over time, the team realized their existing methods had hit a ceiling. Retention campaigns relied on rules and manual testing, leaving the team guessing about when to reach out and what kind of offers would protect profitibality.

For a lean team, this approach to optimization was time-consuming and hard to scale. They knew there had to be a smarter way to personalize at the customer level without adding more manual work.

The Solution

The Perfect Jean partnered with Monocle to move beyond static rules and segments. Within a week of onboarding, Monocle’s AI had trained on TPJ’s customer data, looking at behavior, purchase intent, and product affinity, and was ready to make decisions in real time.

Instead of building endless cohorts, the team could feed Monocle a broad audience, their creative assets, and a few guardrails. From there, the AI decided which offer, if any, was right for each customer, while also factoring in cost of goods to protect margins.

With Monocle connected to Klaviyo, these personalized decisions were deployed automatically through TPJ’s existing email flows. The brand also regained control over its incentive distribution, preventing leaked codes from showing up on coupon sites.

The Results
